Working together to achieve the best
Petersgate is an Infant School with children from 4 to 7 years, located in the village of Clanfield in the Hampshire South Downs.
Welcome from the Headteacher
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our school website. We hope that the website keeps you informed of upcoming events and news in school as well as being a place to find key documents and information.
We are extremely privileged to be based in the village of Clanfield and we are surrounded by the beautiful South Downs. The children have regular access to an engaging and purposeful outside environment which offers enriching learning opportunities. This includes a vast open field, a wild garden with a pond, well-resourced playground, an outside learning space for each year group, outdoor musical instruments and our own gardens where we grow fresh produce for cooking and eating!
Welcome from the Headteacher
Dear Parents and Friends,
On behalf of the children, staff and governors, it is a pleasure to welcome you to our school website.
Our school has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, where the school values reflect the commitment the school places on a child’s emotional well-being. We provide a caring, nurturing and engaging environment where all can flourish. I firmly believe, that a child’s mental and emotional health is as important as academic progress and believe that this is the recipe for achievement.
We are extremely proud of the standards that our children achieve. We pride ourselves on a high level of education alongside a personal and individual environment where children have the ability to develop and thrive. Children leave our school at the end of Year 2 with results above the national average and with the confidence and skills to face the challenge of moving forward to the junior school. Our curriculum pages will provide you with further information about the curriculum content within each year group. You will find data outcomes for the school in the learning section of the website.
We are very proud of our school and the whole community. At Petersgate Infant School, we very much value the partnership between home and school and we believe it is an essential one. We believe that by working in partnership, we can provide opportunities for the children to learn key skills and knowledge to be successful learners. Together we can set challenges and in partnership you can help us ask “How can we do it even better?”
Petersgate Infant School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
If you would like to know more about our school, please contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions or arrange an appointment for you to meet with me and I would be more than happy to offer you a tour of the school. Over the school year, there will be opportunities to attend key events/occasions; dates of which will be published on our school website.
I hope you have enjoyed perusing the website, and if you do, please let us know. We are always looking to improve further and would welcome your feedback.
Thank you for visiting and I look forward to meeting you in the future.
