Welcome from the Headteacher
As the headteacher of Petersgate Infant School, I welcome you and your family to our new school website – your window into our school.
Petersgate Infant School is a wonderful school to work in; our talented and hardworking staff are committed to providing the very best. We are very proud of our school and the way it is continually developing as a creative, child centred environment. Relationships throughout the school are based on mutual trust and respect; all children are valued and all staff work hard to help every child reach his or her full potential.
Mrs Julie Cook
Welcome from the Headteacher
We pride ourselves on a high level of education alongside a personal and individual environment where children have the ability to develop and thrive. Children leave our school at the end of Year 2 with results above the national average and with the confidence and skills to face the challenge of moving forward to the junior school.
We are extremely privileged to have wonderful grounds that our children can use to extend their learning. This includes a vast open field, a wild garden with a pond, well resourced playground and Early Years learning environment and our own gardens where we grow fresh produce for cooking and eating!
We value highly the partnership between home and school and encourage all parents to take an active part in the education of their children. The school cannot work in isolation. The partnership between school staff, parents, governors and other stakeholders is an essential one. Together we can set challenges and our partners can help us ask ‘how can we do it even better?’
I hope you enjoy looking through this site, and if you do, please let us know. We are always looking to improve further and would welcome your feedback.
As it develops, I hope the website gives you a sense of our school, its worth and its aspirations.
If you would like to know more about our school, please contact us. We will be happy to answer your questions or arrange an appointment for you to meet with me and to view the school.
